Trained as an architect, Mayza Joao’s work evolves from her architectural imagination .The jewellery pieces she designs and makes are thought of as objects of design rather than adornments . Its construction entails mechanisms of movement and rhythm in a desire for synthesis and bold simplicity. Through the juxtaposition of geometrical and organic forms she achieves results full of sculptural character and architectural aptitude.
Mayza works predominantly with precious metals and combines traditional jewellery with rapid prototyping techniques.
