Amy Tyson will graduate from the BA (Hons) 3D Design Crafts programme at Plymouth College of Art in 2021. She is a Jeweller.

Amy’s Jewellery has been inspired by the symbolism, aesthetics, and technical processes used in medieval armour production, particularly intricate chainmail.

The chainmail designs provide her jewellery with a sense of touch and weight that gives a sense of comfort to the wearer. This is similar to the weighted blankets which help people cope with anxiety.

Amy finds the making of chainmail rather therapeutic as it has a similarity to knitting which has a repetitive methodology that you can get lost in and is a great tool for de-stressing and evaluating one’s thoughts.

Amy incorporates resin into her jewellery to bring colour to her pieces. Amy is able to offer bespoke colours and designs for her clients.
