Angela Evans

Angela creates contemporary hand-built jewellery in silver and gold, it is made in house at her North
Wales workshop. Her light yet striking pieces are inspired by her fascination with water, how it
moves, how sunlight moves over it and aspects of life on the sea in Wales and the lagoons of Venice
that have captured her attention as a keen and regular rower in both places.
Wire is the predominant material, both silver and gold, with some pieces featuring a colourful
palette of gemstones and granulation. Angela also enjoys creating texture on the wire as a nod to
reflections, and the movement of the oars through the water.
The work is hallmarked at the Edinburgh Assay Office and in 2023 Angela became a member of the
National Association of Jewellers 'Created in the UK' scheme allowing her to feature this additional
mark on her jewellery, guaranteeing its provenance as UK made.
In 2019 she was selected to create the National Eisteddfod of Wales crown, one of the main prizes of
the festival. The full size crown was created in Sterling silver and featured blue topaz stones and
prehistoric copper granulation from the Great Orme mine in Llandudno.
At last years GN fair Angela was fortunate enough to be selected for a bursary given to one exhibitor
by the Benevolent Society which will allow her to study gold alloying at the Goldsmiths Centre.
Angela also won the Goldsmiths North 2024 'North Star' competition
